Photo by @davidalanharvey Home sweet home after weeks of travel. Sitting by surprise when I arrived this afternoon was my Sunfish sailboat I bought back in 1970 when I returned to the East coast after 5 years in the Midwest. U of Mo, grad school and shooting for the super photo paper The Topeka Capital-Journal prior to NatGeo. Formative years to be sure, yet I longed for the sea where I had spent my happiest years as a kid. Very near to where I sit right now in the Outer Banks and also where I fell in love with photography at 12. My friend Scooter, a character in my book Divided Soul and a surfboard shaper, restored my Sunfish for me while I was traveling. It had been neglected the last few years. So I will sail tomorrow if the wind is right. I can't think of a better way to recover from too many airports in too short a time. Thnx Scoot. #OBX
