Today in 1902: Ray A. Kroc, the milkshake machine salesman who franchised the McDonald's restaurant and built a fast food empire, is born. In our collection is this cartridge for applying tartar sauce to the Filet-O-Fish.
Developed in 1962 as an option for customers who did not eat meat on Friday for religious reasons, the Filet-O-Fish was more popular than another meatless item, the Hula burger, made with grilled pineapple.
