Photo by @chamiltonjames with @drewtrush - Snake River cutthroat trout yesterday. Two males jostle to guard the female (below) during the brief spawning season. Whilst the males fight, the females dig 'redds' - depressions in the river bottom gravel to lay their eggs. They dig the redds by flicking their tails and bodies along the river bed. Shot near Jackson Hole, Wyoming for a special issue on the Great a Yellowstone Eco-system. @natgeoparks
