Photo by @Thomas Peschak "Whale Shark Selfie" I took this picture while shooting my first ever story for National Geographic Magazine in 2008. I was covering manta rays in the Maldives but that year whale sharks were also very abundant. This shark in particular hung around so long that I had run out of original ways to photograph him. Just when I was about to call it a day he surprised me by swimming up from behind. I literally only had a few seconds to turn the camera towards me, take a few shots and then roll out of the path of the shark's massive dorsal and caudal fins. #whalesharks#sharks #selfie @ナショナルジオグラフィック
