Sahro was born in a Kenyan refugee camp where she spent the first 10 years of her life. After resettling in the United States she was unable to find a fancy, culturally appropriate dress for an 8th grade dance, so she decided to create beautiful modern clothing for other Muslim women. She is the first of her family to graduate from high school and will be a college student studying fashion in Boston this fall.
