Photo @Keith Ladzinski - Curtains of moss decorate the ornate forest of #MuirWoods National Monument, part of the Golden Gate Recreation Area in California. The forest is old growth redwood and is part of a small portion of what remains of these trees in the the San Francisco Bay Area. The park was given National Monument status by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1908 ensuring protection to what was left of these spectacular trees that at one time blanketed the northern coast of California. @natgeocreative @3stringsproductions
