Polar bears and ice are on the decline in this arctic archipelago which boasts the northern most point of land in Eurasia at just past 82 degrees North. The island chain has 191 small islands 800 miles inside the #arcticcircle. When the first explorers came to Franz Josef Land in the late 19th century, it was all but encased in floe ice. Now, just over 100 yrs later, only bergs remain. The world is changing...the ice is melting...it's undeniable. @thephotosociety @natgeocreative @andymann @Keith Ladzinski
