Incredible to hear about Yuichiro Miura's third ascent of Everest at 80 years old, making him the oldest person in the world to climb Everest. Known as the man who skied down Everest for his attempt to ski the Lhotse face in 1978, Yuichiro Miura was one of the inspirations for our ski descent of Everest in 2006. This is an image of @robdski and @kitdski preparing to rappel the Hillary step after skiing down from the summit on the 2006 expedition. While we didn't use a parachute, Miura's vision to use a parachute to control speed was far ahead of the times and not too far from the now cutting edge sport of speed gliding down mountains with a parachute like wing and skis. He was and still is a testament to living life everyday to the fullest.
