Mexican American food stylist and chef César Aldrete (@beardedfoodie) took on the challenge of re-creating the beloved medieval art museum in Upper Manhattan for the Museum of the City of New York’s annual “Gingerbread NYC: The Great Borough Bake-Off.”  
  
“For me The Cloisters is a hidden gem in the middle of Fort Tryon,” Aldrete said. “I love that I have to walk through the park to get there and, in a way, escape the buzz of the city while not going far at all.”  
 
See Aldrete’s re-creation of The Met Cloisters, along with 22 other sweet masterpieces, in #GingerbreadNYC, on view through January 15 at the Museum of the City of New York.
