For Adidas, the brand will be only its third “permanent” fashion partnership — after Y3 and Stella McCartney — and for Lorenzo, Athletics is the third “pillar” in a long-plotted architecture that began in 2013 with Fear of God’s mainline and has since extended to the wildly popular diffusion brand @Essentials. “It’s our ambition to provide a clear performance perspective," says Lorenzo and Torben Schumacher, senior vice president and general manager of Adidas Originals, basketball and partnerships at Adidas.
