So we got the 90 minute boat back from Kuramathi to Male and then it was just a 5 minute boat ride to our new destination: Kurumba. Kurumba was really different to anywhere else I’ve stayed in the Maldives in that it’s very close to Male so you can see the mainland from one side of the island. But that actually provided really useful for us when nana needed to go to hospital (she’s absolutely fine now). It made me think how useful it would be for anyone who needed or wanted to be close to a hospital. This was definitely the more ‘chilled’ part of the trip in that we didn’t do as many activities- although there was lots on offer. We spent all our time with the Littles swimming in the pool, at the Kids Club or by the beach. The beach was my favourite part of the island, or even possibly the whole trip! At sunset there was the most epic orange glow, there was an outdoor bar, and we spent so much time in the sea watching the most beautiful sunsets. We never left the kids at the kids club but it was still really nice to be able to go and chill there with Alf! Tommy and I got a very rare date - going kayaking along the island! As always I’m falling asleep so must get some sleep as Ada will have me up at 4am. That’s the one rubbish part about going away - the jet lag on return with Ada.
