It’s actually incredible how much change our body goes through in such a small about of time.
Take the way it looks out of the equation, but even the physical recovery - all whilst doing more lifting than you’ll ever do in your life whilst sleeping less than you’ll ever sleep in your life.
Before I had a baby, all I’d hear would be that a baby ‘ruined your body’. But I think that’s such a BS narrative.
Our bodies have just done this miraculous thing, some of us are still using our bodies to feed our babies on the outside... I can’t believe we have to even talk about bounce back culture or have pressure on us to look like we’ve not had a baby.
Since having my babies I can hand on heart say this:
I love my body more than I ever have. I’m less bothered about how it looks, and I’m deeply grateful for what it’s done.
Having physical issues like prolapse and incontinence after birth - I care more than ever about being healthy and strong - to respect my body.
Every time I look at my babies, I feel so much amazement and gratitude to my body! And I think of that whenever I berate myself about parts of my body (like when I struggle with having big b00bs and find myself wishing them away).
A reminder that recovery looks different for everyone and be kind to yourself wherever you’re at. 🫶✨
