I know I'm biased but I think we're a canny bunch 🥹 That's why I've always felt like it was super important to support my community in any way I can. Last year I did a job for the lovely guys at @justeatuk & I was introduced to their brilliant charity partners @foodcyclehq! And became obsessed with the amazing work they do! FoodCycle's vision is to make food poverty, loneliness & food waste a thing of the past for every community. They connect communities, reducing loneliness & food poverty – working with thousands of volunteers & surplus food to help everyone who needs them. By creating welcoming spaces for people from all walks of life to meet, eat & have conversations. By cooking with surplus ingredients, @foodcyclehq promote healthy, sustainable attitudes towards food & its impact on the environment, & help people to learn more about healthy food. In short, what they're doing is fantastic & deserving of some sunlight. Which is why when they asked me to be an ambassador I jumped at the chance. I feel like now, more so than ever it’s important that anyone who can, is supporting their community & the people who need them- whether that’s raising awareness or getting stuck in & volunteering. So I went & spent an afternoon at a @foodcyclehq kitchen round where I grew up- helping the wonderful team cook up a storm, checking out their community garden & meeting some of the lovely people who visit the kitchen. It was a special day & I am looking forward to my next visit. Life is harder than most of us can imagine for a lot of people in our country right now- & I know that helping one person might not change the world- but it could change the world for that person.
