I’m deeply humbled to have contributed to two tracks on Nappy Roots’ latest album. Celebrating their 10th album and nearly 25 years in the industry is truly remarkable. Over these years, they’ve achieved incredible milestones, from having the highest-selling hip hop album of 2002 to Grammy nominations, and having their songs showcased in platforms ranging from Madden video games to Illumination animated movies. What touches my heart the most is through all the success and experience is their unwavering commitment to preserving the essence of country in their music and staying genuine to their roots. The latest album beautifully captures their journey and resonates with the soulful vibes of early works. “End of the Night Song” evokes memories of classics like “AwNaw,” “Ride,” and “Good Day.” I’m excited to share the intro to another song we collaborated on: “Photograph.” Can’t wait to run it all back next time.
