Crazy, right? In Virginia, houses are pretty cheap. I spotted a run-down gem for 60 grand, had to put 10% down—6,000. That summer, I binged house renovation tutorials and fixed it up myself. By the end of the summer, I was renting it for $1,000 a month, with a $480 mortgage. That’s $500+ in my pocket every month! I saw a system I could replicate. It’s how I made my way to LA, and today, that first Virginia house still earns its keep, still making me money.🏡 As artists/dancers/etc it’s important to not limit what you can do to just your art. As money is coming in you have a choice… spend it, save it, or invest it. Even a small amount of money can make a HUGE difference in your life if you put it to work for you in the right ways. Over the next few years I want to find more ways to help artists understand how to do this and the first step is sharing what’s worked for me and also, the mistakes I’ve made. We grow as a community.
