This #TherapyThursday, we join @Calmwithkerry who talks us through all things breathwork. 🙏

“Breathwork is incredibly empowering - your breath belongs to you, it’s free and available for you to tap into whenever you need - the benefits are immediate, the way we breathe directly impacts the way we feel. 

Breathing exercises can help us to release emotions, in turn helping us reduce feelings of overwhelm, stress and anxiety - Ocean Breath is type of yogic breathing, where we produce an audible sound at the back of our throat, a ‘ha’ sound almost as though we’re fogging up glass or a mirror. 

Inhaling through the nose only is a soothing action - here we are inhaling to the count of 4 and exhaling to the count of 4, a balanced breath - it can bring us ‘up’ if we’re feeling ‘down’ equally, it can bring us back ‘down’ if we’re feeling wired or triggered, stressed or anxious✨🧘.

Breathwork can be an effective tool for women experiencing menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes and night sweats - it can also aid in balancing mood.”
