After a heartbreaking loss, my tribe gathered for a pizza picnic at this little park with the perfect view of the sunset. Surrounded by family and friends, I felt so loved regardless of the outcome. In the days and weeks following I have received the most heartwarming messages, emails and comments. I want to thank everyone who reached out, came down to the beach to cheer me on or watched on the internet. It meant more than you could imagine. I feel fortunate for the amazing community surfing has connected me with all over the world. I want to express my gratitude to my finals day team @mitchelcaryross Hubby and Dad. I truly enjoyed training together in the lead up to the event. For me it’s the day to day commitment and dedication to the process, working towards a common goal and dream together that I love the most. In the moments when it all aligns, it is even more special because of the combined effort. And when it doesn’t work out, it makes it that much easier knowing I’m not alone. What a season.
