“We support the arts.
Vogue asked us to make a special gown to be worn during a performance of Shakespeare’s Henry IV part 2 “uneasy lies the head that wears the crown” - we thought immediately of our ‘Five Centuries Ago’ A/W ‘97/98 collection which looked to the clothes of Shakespeare’s time. The original dress was inspired by a portrait of Elizabeth I, attributed to the British painter Nicholas Hilliard, circa 1598.
@Stormzy is a poet, musician and activist - in contrast he is an elegant modern-day Shakespeare.
Our duty in life is to understand the world we live in. The arts are fundamental to us in this quest.
It connects you to the past. It’s an anchor and it gives you power.
The art lover is a freedom fighter!”
