1. In first grade I didn’t speak for an entire year. 小1の一年間、無口な子でした

2. I used to be so deluded in my low-teens that I seriously thought that I wanted to become a Broadway star. 10代前半の頃は本気でブロードウェイ目指したいとちょっと思っていました

3. I used to play the oboe. オーケストラでオーボエを吹いていました

4. The most challenging yoga asana took me two whole years to master. 一番難関だったヨガポーズは二年間かかってできるようになりました

5. At one point I caught near pre-diabetic levels of blood sugar imbalance in myself before any doctor did and self-cured it by geeking out on the internet. 一時期自分の血糖の不安定を感じて、糖尿病の手前だったっぽいのですが、医者に行く前に自分でインターネットで調べまくって予防できました

6. I’m all about peace and non-violence except when I find a mosquito in my bedroom—then I’m licensed to kill. 基本的に平和と非暴力主義ですが、寝室に迷い込んだ蚊は容赦なく速殺です

7. When I was 6? 7? I tried to copy my sister who was a cheerleader at the time. I kicked my leg up so high that I swept my other foot off the floor—landing my butt smack in the big trash can that happened to be behind me. 幼い頃、チアリーダーをやっていた姉をマネしてすっごく高く脚を蹴って上げたら、もう片方の足まで床からすくい上げてしまいました。お尻から落ちたのですが、ちょうど後ろにあったゴミ箱にピッタリお尻がハマってしまったことがあります

8. Speaking of trash cans, I once had my passport stolen while traveling in the south of Israel, on my way to Egypt. Mysteriously, I recovered it from a park trash can just before I needed it to cross the border. ゴミ箱と言えば、イスラエル南部を旅行中に盗まれたパスポートを、公園のゴミ箱からリカバーしたことがあります
