#HondaHeritage First produced in 1982, Honda's V750 Magna was initially powered by a 748cc, 90º V4 engine that was also shared by the VF750S Sabre and later (in revised form) the VF750F Interceptor. A performance cruiser, the Magna featured over-square bore-and-stroke numbers and had a proud racing heritage, benefitting from knowhow gained with competition machines like the NS750 and the NR750. In part as a result, it featured technology unusual for the category, including liquid-cooling, hydraulic clutch and an anti-dive fork. Equipped with a shaft drive, the model had a more upright riding position than typical cruisers, and it was noted for its smooth running and strong acceleration (making it a popular choice for drag racing). In 1984, displacement was dropped to 698cc in response to a U.S. tariff, but it returned to 748cc for '88, after which production ceased. It returned (in chain-driven form) for the 1994 model year and continued until 2003.
