Finding comfort in something consistent like being close to the sea, means where ever I am around the world - whether that’s new or familiar surroundings - I can find that feeling of ‘home’. Growing up in Brighton, England meant I spent so much of my childhood by the water - skimming pebbles, racing each other first into the sea, canoeing, feeling toes pinched by crabs, finding starfish, bbq’s on the beach with friends after school, waiting for low tide for the sand to finally appear, and never quite mastering walking graciously over the pebbles. Now spending time in Ireland, I’m finding myself spending more time by the sea. It feels nostalgic exploring seaside towns, little cabins made into coffee shops, and swimming in freezing waters just because the sun’s out!
