Today I had a 1:1 client in the morning and I show up to Santa Cruz Strength and there is a bunch of bad ass humans working out on a beautiful Saturday morning.

I proceeded to train my client and had no motivation to lift or work out, and I asked the owner of the gym, “Should I work out?”and without hesitation and she told me, “absolutely.”

It’s taking me a long time to feel comfortable in a gym again after being a performance athlete with a barbell. I am now understanding that it takes a community to help build you back up and give you the strength to enter back into the arena.

Sometimes the very place you excelled in at the same time broke you into a million pieces has the ability to heal you.

I’m excited for this next journey to build a healthy and fun relationship to working out, the very thing that taught me how to be in my body and push my mind.
