My seventh book, an audible original - this book took me five painful & dark years of my life.. some of the very worst of times. The ugliest side of myself -- the side that I never wanted to show all of you. Finally, I narrate my own pilgrimage from the mountains of Koyasan and Shikoku Japan with the monks- to burying my grandma with my mom in Kyushu, Japan. How I overcame most of my own demons, mended my heart ❤️‍🩹a few times.... & after drowning in my own suffering... came out back on top. Wellness isn't about shiny, new, contrived or calculated sh. It is about going deep inside -- feeling the feels, mending the broken pain, its about kindness and love-- and grace-- being a real & authentic spiritual practitioner.

In my life- there were plenty of people who made me feel like I was a terrible writer, who told me I should not narrate my own books, there were men who told me I should not cook and that I'd never make it- - there were work colleagues who tore me to shreds & made me feel like I wasn't worth anything - I heard the word “NO” for the majority of my career. I still do, These people are my greatest teachers -- we can learn so much from those who come to your door and rob us blind. Take everything from you - but remember they cannot take your dignity, grace, merit or your character. I wrote seven published books with the top five publishers in the world by the time I turned 38.

My mother, my father, the monks, a reverend, a few therapists, my friends, my sister and my partner - thank you - you carried me through this dark time with fragile love and you consequently saved my life.
