I often wore her clothes during my time as an urban nomad, traveling through the city on all my Accidental Icon adventures. Her bright orange puffer traveled with me to Europe during a cold December. I’ve found a way to wear Dorothee’s designs in my new life outside the big city in my new/old house further upstate on the Hudson. Just like my clothes, I’ve adapted to what Accidental Icon might be as I prepare to enter a new decade of life and live in a new place. When I first started my blog I used fashion as a way to talk about the world and my life. I shared how I was reinventing myself as I grew older. I want to do that again. The first few years of Accidental Icon was when I was happiest. Scroll down to the earliest posts here and you’ll see why. I’m wearing black and white today as a nod. I also want to engage in conversations with those of all ages, about how we might envision our future selves as we talk about how to be old in 2023 and beyond.
