It’s NYFW. Usually looks from designers would be arriving at the apartment and I’d be scouting out bathrooms where I could change between shows, Calvin with garment bags in tow.
But I have to say there’s something nice about getting dressed at home. A slower process of making an adjustment here, changing an accessory there, re-applying make-up to suit each different look. Watching the show while sitting in a comfortable chair rather than a hard bench. Somehow it’s easier to pay attention to the clothes.
So while it’s certainly great fun to meet up with old friends and new, there’s something to be said for having the clothes be the real stars of the fashion shows and not the people who attend them.
