Her art caught the gaze of many online creators for its unique expression and profoundness, leading her to become recognised and known as a collage artist. Karin’s collage pieces have a great level of freedom to them, but at the same time, she gives much attention to their composition and detail. “I want to create collages that make you feel good when you look at them,” she explains. “I believe that if you don’t do that, your art won’t draw anyone’s attention.” In many of her art pieces, Karin showcases her pure love of space and planets. “I’ve recently been thinking about how humans are more similar to space than anything else. Space is limitless and something you can’t see [in its whole] with your own eyes. I think humans are the same. That’s why I want to create things that are tied to space.” Karin used to feature people’s faces in a lot of her older works, but she’s no longer doing that. “Human faces are the boundary line between people. Things like race, racial discrimination, and so on end up popping up as a result, and I don’t want such a boundary to be drawn in my artwork, so I use things like flowers and animals for faces now instead. I think by doing that it enables people who see it to open up their hearts much easier.” For today’s photoshoot, Karin is wearing golden frames fitted with lenses that cut blue light by 30%. “I’m someone who suffers from dry eyes, so I always work wearing glasses that cut blue light.
