Still hard to imagine it’s getting close to a year since I’ve left California. While I miss travel and wildlife adventures around the globe, I can’t complain too much as the animal watching and biodiversity California provides is brilliant. While my state doesn’t have the large terrestrial fauna as say Africa or Alaska, there are some rare gems, such as the largest population of bobcats in the world. These small and elusive hunters reside up and down the state, only showing themselves when they want to be seen (which I’m fairly certain is never, but hey if you’re quiet and lucky enough 🤷♂️). Just a few days ago we were lucky enough to find two beautiful bobcats hunting together, one of which caught a plump gopher and devoured it in no time. I see these cats quite a bit in passing, even some in my driveway at times, but to have the chance to sit, watch, and photograph them at their level is a real treat. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe out there!
