Nat Geo photographer David Guttenfelder (@dguttenfelder) filmed the spot where George Floyd was killed in police custody on May 25. Today the pavement is a canvas for a painting of an angel and the words uttered by Floyd, “I Can’t Breathe.” The area is surrounded by trails in the snow that wind through a memorial on the corner of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis. Now David’s on assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック to cover the January 20 presidential inauguration. He’s driving to Washington, D.C., from his home in Minneapolis, stopping along the way to photograph this moment in the U.S.
