Geminis [8B+] Onsight 🤟😀 The last month in Rodellar was pretty uneventful for me; I didn’t manage to send No Pain No Gain after it got wet in the beginning of November 😩 I spent a ton of days trying it with wet holds, waiting for some wind to dry it all out, assuming it would improve as the days past. There were two holds in the upper crux which would never stop seeping, and on my tries from the start when I grabbed them I would just slip off, even if I wasn’t feeling pumped. I tried to find a method to avoid them but ultimately found zero solutions. It was sad to walk away feeling so dialed in and close to success, but with the days shortening and the winter weather arriving, it was time to abandon the rig 🚫 I had been climbing in Sector Boveda on some of the really nice longer routes, but always had my eye on Geminis 👀 The stunning line on tufas with intermittent pockets always intimidated me, I feared I lacked the resistance nor could read the syle, so I never tried it ( since 2006 🤯) It was our last day before heading back to Cornudella, and with little idea of what to do, I decided on a whim to give it a whirl 🤪 I nearly blew it in the first boulder, fumbling with my beta, but made it to the first rest and realized I might be in for a real battle. I quested upwards, trying to grasp where to go, and advanced between boulders and rests. At the top I had no clue where to go, but amidst the chaos some small kneebar saved me, and I found myself at the anchor ☘️ It was an amazing feeling to climb onsight again, and it was exactly what I needed in order to part ways with such a magical place in a positive way.
