What I Wore to Home Depot
While my old favorite store was Barney’s (still sad about that) it appears my new favorite will be Home Depot.
When I went to Barney’s I would always be stopped by salespersons who would remark on what I was wearing and pay me compliments on my style. The people at Home Depot seem more interested in asking what hardware I’m interested in than what I wear.
In Home Depot there are people with carts full of supplies for renovation/reinvention projects. I feel at home here perhaps because I’ve always reinvented and renovated old habits and sensibilities. As I am right now.
However, one can still dress for the part and there are plenty of “renovated” clothes to wear too. This warm jacket, a gift from @mashawithmaria comes my way from Amsterdam and is made from up cycled Dutch wool blankets. When I wear it, I feel connected to my grandfather, who was born there and took on many renovation projects as he was an architect. This gift comes to me holding memories and my DNA.
One last note...I’ve been a fashion social media person for 6 years and this is the first full length mirror I’ve owned 🤣
