Today on #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities, contemporary artist @laura.swanson reflects on the role humor plays in understanding the unexpected:⁣ ⁣ "I am drawn to small versions of things that we are used to seeing large. I am fascinated by the way we often respond with humor when faced with something unexpectedly small.⁣ ⁣ When I came across this image, I immediately thought of the 'Zoolander' line and the scene in 'Spinal Tap' where a Stonehenge prop is mistakenly made small. I felt compelled to make jokes about it, but at the same time, I am captivated by this image.⁣ ⁣ I like to think that amusement can be a precursor to recognition.
