In the UK, vulnerable areas of supposedly protected waters have been regularly trawled by industrial vessels, ripping up everything in their path without any care of the damage it’s causing. The government says Dogger Bank in the North Sea is in an unfavorable state, but little has been done about it. So my bold friends at @greenpeace created a plan to protect 47 square miles of marine habitat by dropping inert natural boulders into the sea. Their positions have been marked and notified so boats will know where not to go. I am thrilled to have my name on one of them, my enormous rock-shaped middle finger to the destructive fishing industry. If we keep taking everything out of the sea, one day it will all be gone. No fish, no dolphins, no sharks, no starfish, no coral. We can’t continue taking the way we do without giving back, letting nature rest and replenish. Thank you @greenpeace for being so brave and taking such tough action!
