Photo by @erintrieb I This tree was unearthed by Hurricane Laura, which struck land as a Category 4 hurricane in the early hours of August 27, in Mossville, Louisiana. Mossville residents say their homes survived Hurricanes Audrey (1957), Rita (2005), Ike (2008), and Harvey (2017), but many did not survive Laura's 150-mile-an-hour winds, which caused heavy damage to southwestern Louisiana, especially in socioeconomically vulnerable coastal communities.
