The Mara Elephant Project is currently piloting the use of an unmanned aerial vehicle (a drone), outfitted with a thermal camera to locate herds, to move elephants safely out of farms, where they raid crops at night. The noise of the drone, which some believe could sound similar to a swarm of bees, spurs their movement. In this clip, an elephant called Ivy and her herd are successfully pushed out of a farming area and back into the safety of a community conservancy.
