How are artists in Latin America addressing ecological damage, as well as the prospect of a better future for the planet? How are conceptions of nature—not as a resource to be exploited, but as a being with its own rights—evolving in debates about the region?

Guest curator Camila Marambio invites you to explore the intimate relationship between art and the environment in Latin America in the Cisneros Institute’s Aconcagua Summit (Cumbre Aconcagua).

Launching today, the virtual conference is a series of online conversations between August and September, bringing together artists and scholars on how water has been owned, used, and debated in the Americas through the work of three pivotal artists: Carolina Caycedo (@lacaycedo), @ceciliavicuna, and Maria Thereza Alves (@son_del_pueblo).
