Two families of orca that live in this location have devised a feeding strategy that is unique in the world, as far as we know: A family leader—an older, wiser female—stealthily swims into shallow water to what's called a weaning pool and grabs a seal pup. Then she carries it offshore to her family and teaches them this predatory strategy.
