We met through my best friend Chad Popple, who I'd been playing music with since I was 15 years old. This became Gorge Trio, which would be how we explored our creativity and grew as artists for years to come. We discovered so much about music together and developed in a intertwined way that would have been totally impossible with anyone else. Every Deerhoof tour someone asks us about these now difficult to find Gorge Trio albums so we decided we should finally make our first three recordings available exclusively on @bandcamp beginning today. The albums Dead Chicken Fear No Knife (1998), For Loss Of (1999) and The Made Ups (2001, originally a tour only exclusive) are true representations of the discoveries we were making at the time, constantly searching and constantly excited at what music can bring to your life.
