The line-up of the 68th San Sebastián International Film Festival (to be held Sept. 18~26) was announced on July 3rd (Fri) at 11 a.m. in Spain, and this film was chosen to be in the competition category! Including Cannes and Toronto as well, my heart is jumping with excitement ✨ after this film has been chosen by these international film festivals. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I have a very vivid memory of going to San Sebastián ten years ago with my six year-old son. Holding his tiny hand and walking through that seaside town full of so many people who love film, I have nice memories of all of the warmth I felt there. In the midst of COVID-19, the historic San Sebastián International Film Festival is lighting the way for the world with their drive to hold this festival, and I am filled with emotion after True Mothers has been officially chosen to be a part of it. I am hoping the day comes when I can visit that seaside town after ten years along with my film, a day when I can eat pinchos, drink Sidra, chat with people, and understand one another!
