Considering that India experiences some of the worst pollution in the world, this is a literal breath of fresh air. When I was there, the air was so thick you could taste the smoke and fumes. The coronavirus pandemic that has led to India's temporary reduction in pollutants has also put the country on the world's largest lockdown, and it's too soon to tell what impact that has had on curbing the disease—as well as what the long-term effects will be on attitudes toward fresh air once the population returns to business as usual.
