A British DJ and MC crew, The Wild Bunch was founded in Bristol, UK, in the early 80’s by Grant Marshall (Daddy G),Paul Hooper (DJ Nellee) and Milo Johnson (DJ Milo). Later, Robert Del Naja (3D), Claude Williams (Willie Wee), Adrian Thawes (Tricky) and Andrew Vowles (Mushroom) joined the group. . It began as a few friends hanging out, listening to music on the weekends. They spent saturday afternoons sourcing an eclectic mix of records: punk, new wave, funk, reggae, hip hop and disco. Soon Daddy G’s home grew too small for the growing amount of friends who would hang out there, so Daddy G started renting rooms for the crew in local pubs and bar spaces, to experience the tunes at a louder volume and accommodate the increasing amount of friends that would attend. It wasn’t really about dancing. It was about sharing new and old music with friends.
