The Šerefudin White Mosque’s pyramid form is a modern reinterpretation of the traditional building type of the Ottoman mosque prevalent in Bosnia. With a prayer hall and minaret sunk below street level, the building is defined by a sculptural concrete shell pierced by carefully placed skylights, which capture the light differently for each of the five daily prayers, suggesting the five duties of Islam.
