They have to unlearn the cultural norms of mothering in the Philippines in order to learn the ways of mothering abroad. In this class, one of the instructors teaches the women how to detach from the child they care for and how to navigate, in order to avoid the baby's mother becoming jealous. The Philippines is one of the top emigrating countries worldwide, with one in ten Filipinos abroad.
