Photo by Charlie Hamilton James @chamiltonjames | A pack of African wild dogs heads out onto the flood plain in @gorongosapark at dusk to hunt. All fourteen members of the pack were brought to Gorongosa as part of an ongoing reintroduction program, which aims to bring the park back to its former glory. It once boasted some of the most spectacular wildlife in Africa but most of it's wildlife was lost during years of civil war. Now many years later, Gorongosa is thriving again, thanks to careful management and investment in local communities. Shortly after this photo was taken the dogs took down a bush buck. African wild dogs are incredibly effective hunters - able to run up to 40 mph for long distances, which gives them the ability to exhaust their prey and overwhelm them. The story of @gorongosapark will feature in @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine nest year. With @jenguyton
