🇫🇷 Cheveux et barbe au vent, Neptune s’avance vers les flots. 🌊
Les sourcils froncés, soutenant des deux mains son trident pointé vers le ciel, il incarne à merveille l’autorité du dieu de la mer.

Le sculpteur, Lambert-Sigisbert Adam, fait ici une démonstration virtuose de son savoir-faire, avec une composition pyramidale classique animée par la fougue baroque. Le dieu est nu et en mouvement, prouvant la maîtrise de l’anatomie par le sculpteur (le plus difficile des exercices académiques). L’artiste apporte un soin extrême aux détails.

The sculptor, Lambert-Sigisbert Adam demonstrated his skill with this virtuoso work. It is a classical pyramidal composition, suffused with the baroque spirit. The naked god's contorted pose reflects the sculptor's mastery of anatomy (the most difficult of academic exercises). Adam paid great attention to details.
