MoMA staff members in Adrian Piper’s “Everything #10.” For this work, Piper asks participants to have the phrase “Everything will be taken away” temporarily tattooed, in henna, on their foreheads in reverse lettering, so that the message reads properly when reflected in a mirror. The henna is expected to remain visible for between two and six weeks. The participants are also asked to keep a journal of their experience, and to record reactions from others, and then to re-read the journal a year after the performance. #AdrianPiper
