Maria Uwambaje, who lost four of her children during Rwanda’s 1994 genocide, stands with Boniface Twagiramungu, who led killers to those children. Uwambaje has forgiven Twagiramungu. A program led by the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding, @karuna_center is helping such perpetrators and victims heal their trauma. Reconciliation and forgiveness is the first step in changing indifference, a means of returning balance, so that our neighbors and society to find peace, reach understanding of our human commonality.
