Elephant populations were decimated by years of civil war in #SouthSudan, and survivors have migrated to the most remote and uninhabited parts of the country, like here in the #Sudd swamp. A team from @thewcs has fitted one of these elephant with a satellite-tracking collar to get a better understanding of their seasonal migration patterns to develop a #conservation strategy. Finding large concentrations of #elephant like this is rare, and typically a sign that they are still nervous after decades of being shot from military helicopters.
