Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier // A flock of gentoo penguins “flies” through a kelp forest as they return from feeding at sea. I was overwhelmed by the beauty and integrity of marine ecosystems in the Falkland Islands as @PaulNicklen and I worked on this assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック. Once the sheep fencing and infrastructure was removed from Steeple Jason island after a philanthropist purchased the island and donated it to @theWCS, the wildlife returned in huge numbers. A really heartwarming conservation success story!
