Mogura ga ore wo yondeiru : A retro style ramen shop and izakaya pulled straight out of Showa Era Japan

Fukuoka’s Daimyo district is an area dense with izakaya. Mogura ga ore wo yondeiru, which translates roughly to “the mole is calling for me”, is a hole-in-the wall restaurant on a small back street that is both a ramen shop and an izakaya. The first thing that customers notice when they come here is the big sign which resembles an old movie poster. Fittingly, the interior also feels like it was pulled straight out of Showa Era Japan. “Please make yourself at home,” says the owner Masahiro Gondo to each customer.... Recommended by @from_kiji
