The Osawa valley is still snowy as we make our way up to Mount Rausu from the Iwaobutsu trailhead. Ahead awaits the Rausu Plateau, while behind we can just barely see the Shiretoko Goko Lakes (Five Lakes) and the elevated wooden path that skirts their southwestern side, with the Sea of Okhotsk lying beyond.
